Born at Penzance on March 13th, 1785. He was appointed Assistant Surgeon in the Madras Army on July 15th, 1805, but on joining HM 30th Foot without leave of the HEIC he was discharged in 1807. He was gazetted Assistant Surgeon to the 30th Foot on December 27th, 1806; promoted Surgeon to the 83rd Foot on February 20th, 1823, transferred to the 30th Foot on November 18th, 1830, and to the Provincial Battalion on December 5th, 1832. He served in the Third Maratha, Pindari, or Deccan Campaign, 1817-1818, was placed on half pay on December 22nd 1846, and then from June 25th, 1852, for six years was on full pay as Surgeon to the Military Prison, Fort Clarence. He was one of the twenty-nine officers of the IMS admitted to the Fellowship on August 26th, 1844. He died at 4 Sussex Villas, Cambridge Road, Richmond, Surrey, on January 19th, 1867.
