Details
Born on July 3rd, 1829, the son of Edward William Tuson (qv). He was educated at St George's and the Middlesex Hospitals and entered the service of the Bengal Medical Department as an Assistant Surgeon on June 17th, 1853. He was appointed to the honorary rank of Surgeon General on September 8th, 1884, when he retired. In 1855 and 1860 he served in the campaigns on the North-West Frontier of India, being present with the expedition into the Mirarzai Valley, with the Mahsud Waziri Expedition in 1860, and in the Indian Mutiny campaign, including the disarming of the Mooltan population, the operations in Rohilkund, and the action of Nuzeena. He was awarded the Medals for these campaigns, was mentioned in dispatches, and received the thanks of the Commander-in-Chief. After his retirement he resided at Eastbourne, latterly at Bankside, Silverdale Road, where he died on Dec 24th, 1908.
