Details
Educated at the University of Edinburgh where he took first-class honours and won several prizes, he served as house surgeon at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London, and clinical assistant at the Royal London Ophthalmic Hospital, Moorfields. He took postgraduate courses at Berlin and Vienna, and then settled in practice in the west end of London. During the 1930s he was living at 88 Eccleston Square SW, and later at 72 Ashley Gardens in the same district. He died early in 1944 aged nearly 80. Publication: E G Orthmann's *Handbook of gynaecological Pathology*, translated jointly with C H Roberts from the German. London, Bale 1904.
