Details
Educated at St Bartholomew's Hospital, he qualified with the Conjoint Diploma in 1915, and saw active service as a Royal Navy surgeon during the rest of the first world war. He then graduated at London University, proceeding to the Edinburgh Fellowship in 1923 and the English Fellowship in 1929. He entered the Colonial Medical Service, and became chief surgeon of the Federated Malay States at Kuala Lumpur, and senior surgeon at Singapore. He also served at one time in Grenada in the Windward Islands, British West Indies. When he retired he settled at Mary Mount, Flushing, near Falmouth, Cornwall. He died on 18 October 1969 aged about 75.
