Details
Myer Kaye qualified MB BS in 1935 and worked as resident medical officer to the Brisbane General Hospital in 1936. He was at the Hospital for Sick Children in Brisbane in 1937 and was medical superintendent to the Mooroopna Hospital in Victoria 1937-8. Moving to England to study for his FRCS he was acting senior surgeon to the Lewisham Hospital, London, 1940-3; senior surgeon to the Archway Hospital, London, 1943-6; and clinical assistant to St Paul's Hospital for Genito-Urinary Diseases, London, 1945-6. Having passed the FRCS in 1945 he returned to Melbourne the following year where he became senior assistant surgeon to the Austin and Alfred Hospitals. He was a member of the AMA and a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine. During the second world war he was surgeon to the London Civil Defence. He died in 1975.
