Details
:
Eric Leslie Gilliland was a consultant urologist at the University Hospital of North Tees in Stockton-on-Tees. Born on 2 January 1948, he studied medicine at London University. After training at Saint Mary’s Hospital as a registrar in surgery he moved to a more senior position at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Welwyn Garden City. During the early part of his career he spent time as a research fellow at Harvard in the USA.
When he died on 3 July 2016 aged 68, he was survived by his wife Irene, children Fiona, Niall and Peter, and grandchildren Harry, Lyla, Jack and George.
