Details
:
Welby Earle Fisher was born in New Zealand and studied medicine at the University of Dunedin before coming to England to attend University College London. During his career he held appointments at the Chelsea Hospital for Women; the Queen's Hospital for Children; St Peter's Hospital for Genito-Urinary Diseases; the Cancer Hospital and the Gordon Hospital for Rectal Diseases. He died in Auckland on 30 August 1964 and was survived by two daughters and two sons. His eldest son, Adrian Welby Fisher, followed him into the medical profession.
