Details
Leslie Simon served in the RAMC and qualified MB, ChB in Edinburgh in 1947. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1952 and a Fellow of the College in 1955. He held posts at the Northern Regional Surgery Centre at Shotley Bridge and at the St Mary Abbots Hospital in London. He emigrated to Australia in the late 1950s and practiced at Cooma, NSW, in 1958. He moved to the Wallsend Hospital in 1962 and in 1972 became surgeon to the Repatriation Department of New South Wales in Newcastle. In 1983, Council election notices were returned marked "deceased" but he may have died sometime before as his name does not appear in the 1980 *Medical directory of Australia*.
