Details
Frank Bishop studied medicine in Melbourne and, after junior posts at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, came to England to specialise in surgery. He worked as a senior house officer at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Kent, and, after passing the final FRCS in 1955, returned to Melbourne as a registrar at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Repatriation General Hospital. He later held posts on the staff of the Royal Children's Hospital and Larundel Hospital, becoming gradually more involved with administration at the Royal Children's Hospital. In 1985 he went into private practice in child psychiatry. He died on 22 May 1999.
