Details:
Philip Jones was a surgeon commander in the Royal Navy. He studied medicine at Birmingham University and qualified MB, ChB in 1969. After passing the fellowship of the college in 1978, he eventually became a consultant in orthopaedics at the Royal Naval Hospital in Plymouth. During his career he published papers on fatigue fractures, radiomedical advice and the trauma of modern seafaring.
He died on 3 April 2018.
