Details:
Owen Elias Owen studied medicine at Edinburgh University and qualified MB,ChB in 1946. He spent time in London as a senior surgical registrar at St James’ Hospital, Balham and also travelled to the USA as a research fellow in surgery at Harvard University. After passing the fellowship of the college in 1953, he returned to Wales and was appointed a consultant surgeon at Bridgend Hospital. He was then employed by Gwynedd Health Authority, working mostly at the Caernarvon and Anglesey Hospital in Bangor. He was a fellow of the Association of Surgeons and lived in Bethesda, Bangor.
He died at his home surrounded by his family on 4 July 2019 aged 96.
