Details:
Trevor David Morgan was born on 8 August 1937 in Plymouth, England. His father, Ralph Morgan, died in 1941 and his mother Gwen married David Smith. Gwen died in 1983 and David in 1986. Trevor was raised and educated in Barry, South Wales and studied medicine at Manchester University. He became a fellow of the college in 1969 and worked as a demonstrator in anatomy at Manchester University. After house jobs at the Derbyshire and Manchester Royal infirmaries, he was a surgical registrar at Ancoats Hospital before emigrating to Edson, Alberta in 1972. During his time in the Manchester area he met and married Margaret Isabel née Ellison, known as Mags, and their four children were all born in the UK. He worked as a general surgeon in Canada for 25 years before retiring in 1997. In spite of bouts of ill health, he then managed to spend six seasons in Arizona with his wife in their beloved mobile home. Avoiding the severe Canadian winters, they enjoyed playing golf and socialising with new friends. On 7 January 2008 he died in Edmonton, Alberta aged 70 from the complications of Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. Mags, who was born in 1938, died in 2010.
