Details:
Ali Hussein Shaaban was born on 21 August 1909. He was the oldest son of Hussein Shaaban, a land keeper and his wife Sadiba Abu El-Khair. After studying medicine at Cairo University he graduated MB, ChB in 1932. He passed the fellowship of the college in 1940. During his training he was mentored by Professor N Mahfang and Professor Shafic Ohmed at Cairo University where he eventually became professor of gynaecology and obstetrics. He married Fatima in 1938 and they had three children who all took up a medical career. It is not known when he died.
