Details:
Born in 1929, Gerald Arthur Manly (Gerry) graduated from Melbourne Medical School in 1947. He was a senior obstetrician and gynaecologist who worked at the Mercy Hospital for Women in Melbourne. Highly respected by both his patients and his colleagues, he played a pivotal part in the planning and establishment of the Mercy Maternity Hospital in East Melbourne and was the inaugural chairman of its association.
He died on 5 April 2009, survived by his wife, Evelyn, and children, Richard, Finola, Angela, Gerald, David, Christopher. Declanan and the late John. Father-in-law to Angie, Christopher and Andrea, he was grandfather to Sarah, Daniel, Lucy, Jessica, Christopher, Sebastien, Emily, Kate and Nicholas.
