Robert Paul Jonathan Thompson was a consultant in oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester. He was born in 1946 in Carlisle, Cumbria; his mother’s maiden name was Tomlinson. He gained his fellowship of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1974. He was a director of the British Orthodontic Society.
He married Elsie Irving in 1969. His death was reported to the College in June 2019.
