Brian Littler was a consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Whipps Cross Hospital, London. He was born in London on 22 November 1942, the son of William Oswald Littler, a dental surgeon, and Mavis Priscilla Littler née Copping. He studied dentistry at King’s College and qualified as a dentist in 1964. He became a fellow of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1969 and then studied medicine back at King’s, gaining his MB BS in 1974.
He held posts at the London Hospital from 1977 to 1986 and was then appointed as a consultant at Whipps Cross Hospital. From 2001 he was a consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon in private practice. He was a fellow of the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
In 1972 he married Susan Elizabeth Stent. They had three children, Adam, Elizabeth and Bryony. Littler died on 18 December 2017. He was 75.
