Details:
Stuart Crabb was a professor in the department of restorative dentistry at the University of Leeds. He was born in London on 7 June 1922, the son of Henry Ralph Crabb, an architect and surveyor, and Lucy Beatrice Crabb née Mann. He studied dentistry, gained his LDS and BDS, and in November 1944 joined the Royal Air Force’s dental branch as an assistant flying officer.
He gained his fellowship of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1951.
He was married twice. In 1945 he married Isobel Musgrave Buchan. That marriage was dissolved and in 1980 he married Judith Margaret Jowett. Predeceased by his son Benjamin Stuart from his first marriage, Crabb died on 30 November 2017 at the age of 95. He was survived by his second wife, Judith, son James, daughters Sophie, Angela and Ellie and five grandchildren.
