Eric Ian Frazer was a dental surgeon in Pudsey, Yorkshire. He was born in Leeds on 21 November 1929, the son of Benjamin Frazer and Sarah (or Sonia) Frazer née Cohen. He studied dentistry at Leeds University from 1947 and qualified in 1952 with the Charles Rippon medal for the most distinguished student of the year. He gained his fellowship of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1957. He established a dental surgery at Pudsey. In 1985 he was appointed to a part-time post at the University of Sheffield at the Charles Clifford School of Dentistry, teaching final year undergraduates. He subsequently lectured at a postgraduate level throughout the UK. He retired in 2006. In his retirement he studied English literature at Leeds Metropolitan University, gaining a BA in 2011, and then studied for a BA in psychology and society, at Leeds Beckett University, graduating in 2015. In 1960 he married Valerie T Bailey. They had three children – Ruth, Benita and Nick. Frazer died on 28 May 2015 in Harrogate. He was 85.
