Details:
Noel Ribeiro was an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Perth, Western Australia. He was born in Mapusa, Goa, India on 6 November 1973, the son of Eurico and Maureen Ribeiro. He was educated at St Xavier’s College, Goa, and then studied dentistry in Goa, gaining a BDS in 1997. From 1997 to 1998 he was a senior resident in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Dental Sciences, Dharwad, India. He then went to the UK, where he gained his fellowship of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1999. He subsequently studied for an MB ChB degree at Manchester and worked at North Manchester General Hospital, as a house officer in maxillofacial surgery and then as a senior house officer in otolaryngology and a senior house officer in general surgery. From 2001 he was a locum registrar in oral and maxillofacial surgery in England. He subsequently went to Western Australia, where he was an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Perth. He was a member of the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Outside medicine and dentistry, he enjoyed ballroom dancing. Ribeiro died at home with his family on 13 October 2014. He was 40.
