Details:
Maurice Owen Hindle was a senior lecturer in the school of clinical dentistry at the University of Sheffield. He was born on 28 February 1931 in Blackburn, Lancashire. His father, John Hindle, was a draper, furnisher and dealer; his mother, Marjorie Edith Hindle née Owen, was a housewife. He attended Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School in Blackburn and went on to study dentistry at the University of Manchester, qualifying in 1954. He gained a masters in dental surgery in 1966 and his fellowship of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1969. He married Frances P Lloyd in 1960. They had three children. Predeceased by their son Christopher John in 2013, Hindle died at home at Hathersage, Derbyshire on 26 May 2015. He was 84.
