Details:
Charles Robert Stockdale was a dental surgeon in Manchester. He was born in Manchester on 29 May 1925. His father, William Henry Stockdale, was a schoolmaster at a technical school; his mother Dorothy K Stockdale née Daykin was a housewife.
He studied dentistry at Manchester, qualifying with his LDS in 1951. He became a fellow of the faculty of dental surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1958. He was a member of the department of conservative dentistry, University Dental Hospital of Manchester.
In 1952 he married Vera Mare-Louise Mumford. They had a son. Stockdale died on 19 April 2004. He was 78.
