Son of Inspector-General W H Sloggett, RN, of Tremabyn, Paignton, South Devon, was born at Stoke Damarel in that county on Nov 24th, 1857, his mother being Elizabeth, daughter of Thomas Cornish-Crossing, JP, of Stoke Damarel.
