Studied at Guy's and St Thomas's Hospitals, and practised at 24 Abercromby Square, Liverpool, where he was Surgeon to the Royal Southern Hospital, to Dispensaries, and to the School for the Blind, as well as Referee to Assurance Societies. He died at Liverpool on January 22nd, 1882.

Practised in Norwich, where in 1850 he was elected Surgeon to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital in the place of John Greene Crosse (qv) without having served as Assistant Surgeon. Educated at Guy's Hospital and was in general practice at Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. He was there Surgeon to the West Suffolk General Hospital from 1826-1856, when he resigned and was appointed Consulting Surgeon, a post he held until 1867, when he left Bury to live at 5 Albion Street, Ramsgate. Served as a Naval Surgeon, retiring with the rank of Fleet Surgeon. He resided for many years at Plymstock, Devon, where he died on October 4th, 1894. He was then the oldest Naval Medical Officer and the Senior Pensioner of Greenwich Hospital.

Studied at Guy's Hospital, in Edinburgh, and in Paris. He practised for some years at 9 St James's Terrace, Upper Westbourne Terrace, London, W, but the date of his death is unknown; his name was removed from the Medical Register in 1872, and from the College *Calendar* in 1905.
