The third of six sons of George Harrison; was for more than fifty years a prominent man in Chester as Surgeon to the Infirmary, then Consulting Surgeon, also three times Mayor. He was educated at Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, and at the age of 16 was admitted a pensioner at Trinity College, Cambridge, on May 21st, 1824. He was elected a scholar of the College in 1827, and graduated BA as 15th Wrangler in 1828,

Studied at Guy's Hospital and practised first at Boston, Lincolnshire, where he was Surgeon to the Boston District Great Northern Railway, and to the 'Lock-up' and House of Correction, Shirbeck; next at 34 King Street, Holborn; after that at Ketton in Rutlandshire, where he died on May 11th, 1880.
