Practised at East Beach, Taunton, Somerset, and was from its inception a member of the Provincial Medical and Surgical Association. He died at Teignmouth on June 15th, 1850.

Richard Hey, Surgeon to the York County Hospital and to the Institute for the Blind, lectured on Surgery at the York School of Medicine and was Surgeon to the Female Penitentiary. He lived at Minsteryard, York, and died on September 1st, 1860, whilst visiting Ellesborough Rectory, Buckinghamshire.

Practised as a Surgeon in Gloucester, where at one time he was Surgeon to the General Infirmary. He gave an address at Ealing in 1863. His death occurred at 11 Spa Walk, Gloucester, on November 29th, 1875.
