Educated at Guy's Hospital. He practised throughout at Barnstaple, where he was Surgeon, and at the time of his death Consulting Surgeon, to the North Devon Infirmary. He died on January 21st, 1886.

Practised at Cheltenham, and at the time of his death was Consulting Surgeon to the Cheltenham General Hospital, and Referee to the Railway Passengers Assurance Company. He died on October 22nd, 1868.

Was a surgeon in the Royal Navy, and belonged to Skipton-in-Craven, Yorks, giving this as his address in 1831. He was probably closely connected with John Birtwhistle (qv), as they both lived at Skipton. He died in 1846.

Received his professional education at St Thomas's and Guy's Hospitals. He became Surgeon to the North Devon Infirmary, and at the time of his death was Consulting Surgeon. He practised at Barnstaple and died at his residence, Riversvale, in 1884.

Was gazetted Assistant Surgeon to the Grenadier Guards on November 11th, 1824, was promoted to Battalion Surgeon on May 11th, 1832, and to Surgeon Major on February 7th, 1845. He retired on half pay on December 29th, 1854, and died in 1863 or 1864.
