Details:
Brian Coupe Calverley was a dental surgeon from Stratford-upon-Avon. He was born on 2 June 1913. His father, Ernest Calverley, was a schoolteacher who had fought with the Army Service Corps in the First World War; his mother was Edith May Calverley née Coupe. Calverley studied dentistry at the University of Birmingham and qualified in 1935. He served in the Royal Air Force and studied medicine at the University of Birmingham at the end of the 1940s. He qualified as a doctor in 1951. In 1938 he married Christine E M J Harlow. They had a son, John, who died in 1975. Calverley died on 12 August 2003 at the age of 90.
