Born on Feb 2nd, 1782. Received his later professional training at St George’s Hospital, where he was entered as a six months’ surgical pupil on Oct 7th, 1814. He had previously seen much active naval and military service. He joined the Royal Navy as Assistant Surgeon on April 4th, 1800, and became

Practised at Stourport, near Kidderminster, and died on or before June 26th, 1848.

Was Surgeon to the Stafford County Infirmary, and died in retirement at 93 Kingsdown Parade, Bristol, on May 21st, 1861. Publications:- Hughes wrote books on the "Natural Diversities of Man" and on "Consumption".

Practised at Stafford, where he was Surgeon to the County Infirmary and Prison. He moved later to Barnstaple, where he died on November 22nd, 1880.

Practised as a Surgeon in Gloucester, where at one time he was Surgeon to the General Infirmary. He gave an address at Ealing in 1863. His death occurred at 11 Spa Walk, Gloucester, on November 29th, 1875.
