After studying at St Bartholomew's Hospital and in Paris, practised in Guilford Street, Bloomsbury, and was Medical Officer attending the Foundling Hospital. He retired to 12 Onslow Gardens, Brompton, and died in 1869.

Practised in Burlington Street, Chorlton-on-Medlock, Manchester. He was Surgeon to the Female Penitentiary and to Henshaw's Blind Asylum. He died at 242 Oxford Street, Manchester, in 1884.
