Educated at the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland, where he won the Gold Medal in anatomy and physiology, and at other schools not specified. He practised at Park House, Royton, Oldham, Lancashire, and at the time of his death was Medical Officer of the Oldham Union and a Certifying Factory Surgeon

Studied at St Bartholomew's Hospital. He practised in partnership with Robert Harper at 30 New Bridge Street, Blackfriars, was Surgeon to the Western City Dispensary, and Medical Assistant to the Royal Humane Society. Later he moved to 29 Woburn Place, WC, and died there on August 4th, 1887. Public
