Born on 14 February 1889, Griffith Evans was educated at Ruthin School and Magdalen College, Oxford, where he gained second-class honours in the final school of Natural Sciences (physiology), and had his medical training at St George's Hospital, London. He joined the RAMC as a student on the outb
