Educated at Glasgow and Manchester, and at the time of his death was Surgeon to the Ashton-under-Lyne District Infirmary, Union Medical Officer, Certifying Factory Surgeon, and Medical Officer of Health at Hurst and Dunkinfield. His death occurred at Ashton-under-Lyne on September 27th, 1878.

Was at one time Surgeon to the City Police, Manchester. He was a member of the British Medical Association and of the Manchester Ethical Society. Practised at 21 Shakspere Street, Stockport Road, and 46 Ogden Street, Pinmill Brow, Ardwick, Manchester, and died on February 28th, 1867.
