Details:
Ashworth received his medical education at Manchester, whence he qualified MB ChB in 1940. After war service in the RAMC he obtained the FRCS in 1950 and made his career in urology, holding consultant posts at the Crumpsall Hospital Manchester, at the Christie Hospital and Holt Radium Institute, the Royal Manchester Childrens' Hospital and at the University Hospital of South Manchester.
He died on 16 September 1993.
