Details:
John Glover Gill was born in Ossett, Yorkshire on 3 March 1925. He studied medicine at Cambridge University and St Thomas’s Hospital, where he initially specialised in obstetrics. After then working as a casualty officer at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, he moved to Leeds United Hospitals as a senior orthopaedic registrar. Passing the fellowship in 1961, he moved to Calderdale Health Authority as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in Halifax.
He died on 29 May 2018, aged 93.
