Peter Riddle was a well-known urologist who worked all his consultant life in London. He was emeritus surgeon at University College London and at St Peter's Hospital, and had been sub-dean at the Institute of Urology. He was born on 1 September 1933. His father, Leonard, was an assurance broker and
