Details:
Robert Dow Forbes was born in 1879 and graduated MD at McGill University in 1903. He obtained the MRCS in 1906 and the FRCS in 1907. He returned to Stratford, Ontario, and in 1909 moved to Seattle where he practised from 1909 to 1950, and served as consultant at the University of Washington Medical School. He was a member of the Seattle, the Pacific Coast and North Pacific Surgical Societies and was President of the King County Medical Society in 1936.
He was one of the founders of the American College of Surgeons and was survived by only one other founder. He died on 31 October 1974 in Seattle at the age of 95 years.
