Ernest Briant studied medicine at the Westminster Hospital where he was house surgeon on the irradiation unit and senior casualty officer. He joined the RAMC and became consultant surgeon in orthopaedics with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. He died on 30 April 2002.

Ewen Murchison rose to be Surgeon Captain in the Royal Navy. On retirement he was civilian consultant surgeon to the Navy in Gibraltar. He was an associate member of the Association of Plastic Surgeons. He died in Gibraltar on 19 December 2002.
