Served as a Naval Surgeon, retiring with the rank of Fleet Surgeon. He resided for many years at Plymstock, Devon, where he died on October 4th, 1894. He was then the oldest Naval Medical Officer and the Senior Pensioner of Greenwich Hospital.

Practised at Rochdale, where for many years he was Consulting Surgeon to the General Dispensary. He died, after his retirement, at Southport, on August 24th, 1873.

Educated at Guy's Hospital and was in general practice at Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. He was there Surgeon to the West Suffolk General Hospital from 1826-1856, when he resigned and was appointed Consulting Surgeon, a post he held until 1867, when he left Bury to live at 5 Albion Street, Ramsgate. Studied at St George's Hospital, and practised at 4 Eaton Square, where he was Surgeon to the Chelsea, Brompton, and Belgrave Dispensary. He died in retirement at 46 Gillingham Street, Eccleston Square, London, SW, on February 19th, 1879. His photograph is in the Fellows' Album.
