Obtained the Carmichael Premium, Dublin, in 1842 and 1843, and was a member of the British Medical Association. He practised at 1 Paradise Lane, Blackburn, Lanes, and died on February 21st, 1861.

Became a Surgeon in the Navy and was at one time Surgeon to St. Peter Port Hospital, Guernsey, and then Physician to St Peter Port Lunatic Asylum. He was also Admiralty Surgeon and Agent. He died on September 10th, 1860, at Le Manoir, Lefebre Street, Guernsey.

Practised at Spilsby, Lincolnshire, where he was Surgeon to the Union and Medical Officer to the Eastern District of the same. He practised in Spilsby for sixty years, and celebrated his eightieth birthday, amid universal respect, a month before his death on March 7th, 1898.
