Entered the Army as Surgeon's Mate, unattached, on December 19th, 1811. In May, 1813, he became Hospital Assistant, and on June 3rd, 1813, was gazetted Assistant Surgeon to the 40th Foot. He went on half pay on October 26th, 1814, and exchanged on full pay, on February 16th, 1815, to the 74th Foot.
