Born in February, 1814, the second son of William Langmore, MD, who at one time practised in Finsbury Square, EC. He was educated at St Paul's School and received part of his professional training at the London Hospital, after which he travelled, chiefly in Italy, as medical attendant to a young man

Was Surgeon to the Infirmary at Newcastle-upon-Tyne. He was a Fellow of the Linnean and Geological Societies, and a FSA.
