The eldest of the six sons and two daughters born to Commander Robert John Fayrer, RN, and Agnes, his wife. One of his brothers was Sir Joseph Fayrer, Bart (qv). George Fayrer was educated at Guy's Hospital, and practised for a short time at Barking in Essex. He moved to Henley-in-Arden, Warwickshir

At the time of his death was Surgeon to the Basingstoke Infirmary, and a Justice of the Peace. He resided at The Shrubbery, Basingstoke, and died there on August 28th, 1861.

Was educated at St Bartholomew's Hospital. He practised at 23 Wilton Street, Grosvenor Place, SW, and died there on June 13th, 1878.

Educated at St Bartholomew's and St George's Hospitals. He practised at 7 Bath Place, Kensington, in partnership with William James Turner, MRCS, and at one time was Surgeon to the Dispensary. He removed to Oak Lodge, Prince's Road, Wimbledon Park, and died there on August 15th, 1892.

Resided at Hopwood Hall, Halifax, Yorkshire. He died on June 18th, 1861.
