He was also President of the Lancashire and Cheshire Branch of the British Medical Association. He died at Thornbreaks, Lancaster, on July 8th, 1891. He had lived on the west side of St Thomas's Square and in Mare Street. He died at 199 Richmond Road, Hackney, on January 14th, 1878.
