Details Studied at St Bartholomew's Hospital and practised at Lancaster, where he was Surgeon to the Dispensary, which later became the Infirmary. He was also President of the Lancashire and Cheshire Branch of the British Medical Association. He died at Thornbreaks, Lancaster, on July 8th, 1891. His son, William Hall, junr, FRCS Edin, was then in practice at Lancaster.

Details Studied at St George's Hospital, acted as Surgeon to the Chesterfield Dispensary, and then settled in practice at Hackney, where he was District Surgeon to the Mutual Benefit Institute and to the Sceptre Life Association. He had lived on the west side of St Thomas's Square and in Mare Street. He died at 199 Richmond Road, Hackney, on January 14th, 1878. The photograph in the Fellows' Album may be his or that of William Hall, of Lancaster. Publication:- *Expeditious Writing, describing two shorthand methods*, London, 1864.
