He was appointed one of the Coroners for the County and Borough of Brecon, District Medical Officer of the Brecon Union, and a member of the Provincial Medical and Surgical Association, which became the British Medical Association.
In 1871 he had moved to Honddhû House, Brecon, was Surgeon to the 1st Battalion of the Brecon Rifle Volunteers, and to the Brecon and Merthyr Railways, to the Brecon Infirmary, Union Workhouse, and Prison, and Public Vaccinator.
