He was appointed one of the Coroners for the County and Borough of Brecon, District Medical Officer of the Brecon Union, and a member of the Provincial Medical and Surgical Association, which became the British Medical Association. In 1871 he had moved to Honddh&ucirc; House, Brecon, was Surgeon to the 1st Battalion of the Brecon Rifle Volunteers, and to the Brecon and Merthyr Railways, to the Brecon Infirmary, Union Workhouse, and Prison, and Public Vaccinator.
