Limiting Search Results

Using limits

Limits are organized by fields (like Personal Name, Titles/Qualifications, Occupation, etc.). You can expand or close each list of limits by clicking on the title bars (1).

You can use limits in the following ways:

  • Click a limit to narrow your search results to meet that limit. For example, if you click on “General surgeon”, your search results will only include Fellows that worked as General surgeons.
  • Select a limit or multiple limits to include in or exclude from your search results. You can select one or multiple limits within a single field by clicking the checkbox next to the limit(s).
  • If you want to include limits in your search results, click the include icon (2). For example, if you select to include “General surgeon” and “ENT surgeon”, your search results will only include General surgeons and ENT surgeons.
  • If you want to exclude limits from your search results, click the exclude icon (2). For example, if you select to exclude “General surgeon” and “ENT surgeon”, your search results will include everything but General surgeons and ENT surgeons.
  • Use the ‘More’ and ‘Fewer’ options (3) to expand or reduce the list of limits on display within a field. You can also use the ‘View All’ option (3) to show all of the limits in a separate window.
Removing limits

Any limits you have applied will appear in the “Narrowed by” section. Limits you have included in search results will have a plus (+) sign; limits you have excluded will have a minus (–) sign.

Click the remove icon (4) to remove an individual limit, or remove all limits by clicking ‘Clear all’ (5).
